The holidays are busy times for wrapping Christmas gifts and covering Christmas hampers and Christmas gift baskets. More often than never, there would be excess wrapping paper scattered on the floor which are too small to wrap another item.
Now you can make use of them by making recycled paper ribbons! These are also a great decoration when designing a Christmas baskets and hampers.
How to Make Paper Ribbons
Materials:
- Excess wrapping paper
- Clear tape
- Cardboard
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Double-sided tape
Procedure:
1. Cut the wrapping paper into half-inch wide and four-inch long strips. Cut the cardboard into a 1.5-inch square. This will serve as your base.
2. Get a strip and try bring the two ends together, making a loop. Leave about 1/8 inch in between the ends, then tape them. Make sure that the tape extends past the paper, as you will tape it to the cardboard.
3. Tape strips to the edges of the square first, then to the corners. Continue taping strips of paper in between two strips, until the cardboard is filled.
4. Use the double-sided tape to stick your ribbon to a wrapped Christmas gift or christmas gift hamper.
