Add a little extra style and pizzazz on your gift wrap. One of those craft which always works. If you are bored and tired of the same old boring ribbon, this star fashioned from candy cone colored paper straws will be the crowning glory of your gift. To make this wrapping idea you just need string and a straw and some folding skills without any glue or tape. The straw will look amazing atop any package. You can also hang it on the Christmas tree. For making it you will need: Brown Craft Paper, Baker’s String. 5 Paper Straws, each cut in Half.

HOW TO DO:

Wrap your present in brown craft paper and set it aside and make your star. Take 5 equal size straw halves and string them one after the other onto a long piece of baker’s string. Tie the two ends of the string snuggly which will make you leave with a pentagon of straws on string.

TO FOLD: Twist the circle while folding it in half so you end up with 2 triangles, then fold the triangles towards each other and tuck the top point of bottom triangle underneath the straight bottom edge of triangle above it. To scoot the straws into the right spot, you might need to move them around a bit for a symmetrical star but if you have folded it correctly, it should snug enough to stay in place. Tie your star to the package with baker’s string. You can tie it around with a single string or add some extra fun by running a piece of string through each of the straw lines of the star.
