You can always buy these from stores or online. However, if you want to save some money and are really in DIYs, when it comes to making Christmas gifts then we have a quick recipe for you.
Things you will need to make the scented bath candle:
- Soy candle wax
- A cute looking Mason jar (transparent)
- Glue gun
- Fragrance oil (around 15 to 20 drops)
- Candle Wick (compatible with the kind of wax you are using and the width of the jar)
Method of making your own scented gift candle
- Melt the required quantity of wax in a double boiler on low to medium heat. Do not leave the wax unattended while it is being heated. Keep stirring intermittently, if required.
- Secure the candle wick to the bottom of the Mason jar with the help of hot glue from a glue-gun. Hold the wick in place till the glue dries, entirely.
- Allow the molten wax to cool down a little bit before you pour in the fragrance oil and colourants, if at all you are adding some colour to your candle. Usually, you will find all the instructions regarding handling and adding colours and essential oils to the wax on the packaging, itself. You might need a food thermometer her if you want to be really precise.
- Pour the wax in the mason jar while holding the wick upright. The wick has to be kept longer initially. Once the wax is completely set, you can cut the wick to the required length. You can label it with a handmade label to make it look personalized.
