Gather long twigs and twines and put it in a jar. Use pine cones as flowers and dot some fairy lights. Fairy lights add the ambiance that you’ve been craving for your rustic Christmas theme. It’ll be the perfect centerpiece for your rustic Christmas.
Forgo the plastic trinkets and use wooden baubles instead. Natural pine needles and pinecones go hand in hand with your very countryside look. Add some candles and maybe a wooden reindeer figurine for a welcoming look for Santa.
Pine cones come in abundance every Christmas. Mix them with your usual baubles and put them in a tray. It will make your trinkets as if they came from nature itself. Add some winter berries to complete the look.
Cover your candles with weaved traditional cloth and fill the empty spaces of the tray with pine cones and earthy colored fruits. It will be the perfect fruitstand on your table. Why not forgo the table cloth althogether and go bare with your dining table for an added effect.
Wood is more beautiful when bare, so forgo the paint and just stack wood on your wall with the longest piece at the bottom and the shortest on top. Use wooden trinkets and star made of twine as topper. Wrap some fairy lights and voila! Rustic and minimalist go hand in hand after all.
Just because snowflakes are made of ice, it doesn’t mean that you can’t imitate them with other materials. Make snowflakes mobile with twine and fairy lights. Tie them with rope and hang it on your ceiling. The more earthy it looks, the better.
Don’t forget elegance just because you want a rustic theme this Christmas. Go for a more golden theme with gold accents on your porcelain and cutlery. Use pinecone miniature Christmas tree as centerpieces and fill a bowl with pine cones to complete the simple but elegant look on your table.
Go for a rustic wreath with golden brown baubles and grossgrain ribbons in shades of gold and brown. Add an accented ribbon with a gothic ornament design as well. Your pine needles could be covered in snowy material to highlight your down-to-earth colors.
Instead of flowers, use mistletoe and holly berries in flower pots. Put a candle on each pot. It will look as if you are guiding Santa’s way with the fruits of winter.
Candlelight is the best element for a rustic theme. Maximise the candles by accenting some yellow fairy lights. Wrap the lights with twine and star in brown shade. It will give the perfect golden and rustic feel for your Christmas.
If you’re going minimalist and still want a rustic feel, make miniature Christmas trees with coiled twines and make it as sparce as possible. A small star shaped cutout as topper and perhaps a small brown pot as base will be perfect. Dot the decor with a few pieces of pine cones and voila, rustic and minimalist.
If you don’t want to go all the way rustic with your decoration, bits and pieces will do. Soak old newspapers in coffee and let it dry. Wrap your baubles with the dried out papers and paste a piece of old paper with yoru Christmas greeting. Use twine instead of nylon cord to hang it on your Christmas tree.
Forgo the expensive napkin tie and go for twine instead. Tie the table napkins with weaved cloth, and twine. Attach a sprig of mistletoe and pine cone. If you can’t fully let go of class, put a star decor as well.
Go for an all natural centerpiece by gathering leaves of winter trees. Place them on a huge wooden tray. Dot the centerpiece with winter berries, pine cones and candles. It will not just be rustic and countryside but perhaps dinner would have a medieval feel to it as well.
Use old containers at home like your metal pail. The gray color would set off the brown and gold of pine cones, and twigs. Dot it with fairy lights for an intensified golden aura.
Use ornamented glass containers and tea candles for a stained glass effect. Make sure to not go beyond the dark, earthy tones. Add some wooden reindeer figurines and pine cones and be amazed at the beautiful play of candlelight on the solid decors on your centerpiece.
Simple is crucial in this theme. Just a simple tea candle in a glass jar, and perhaps few pieces of twine will create wonders already. Add accent on the rim of the jar with lace, twine and pinecones for an added effect.
A wooden cupcake stand will be perfect for this look. Use old glasses to contain your candles and it’ll be your light instead of electric lights. Pine cones and clear glass baubles for trinkets and voila! You can instantly feel the medieval ambiance.
Snow never gets old. Coat glass containers with snowy, velvety material and wrap twine on the rim. Instead of ribbons, use the brown twin to make a bow and attach some hollies. Perfect containers for your Christmas goodies.
